Camila Martins-Bekat

Ms. Martins-Bekat is the Manager of Customer Energy Optimization at UNS (TEP and UES) where she leads the integration of demand side management and transportation electrification initiatives to develop a comprehensive portfolio of offerings. These initiatives are designed to deliver significant energy savings and peak reduction benefits to customers, while also enhancing grid stability through effective peak reduction strategies. Her role focuses on creating innovative solutions that align customer needs with grid efficiency, driving sustainable energy practices and fostering a more resilient energy ecosystem. She works to build external support for corporate objectives through targeted, strategic public outreach and long-term collaboration with businesses, local governments and key partners in support of the customer experience.  She previously served as the Economic Development Manager for the City of Tucson. Her work with the City focused on downtown revitalization and City-wide business attraction. Prior to that, she worked as a microfinance consultant for an Inter-American Development Bank project in rural Brazil. Ms. Bekat has a bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree in Global Finance and Trade from Denver University.
